SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Macon office. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for playing a key role during engagements, establishing more personal and direct working relationships with clients and developing your supervisory knowledge and experience.
Responsibilities:
- Planning, scheduling, and orchestrating all aspects of the audit/attest engagements.
- Performing and completing field work to include the preparation of complex workpapers along with monitoring the workpaper preparation of Staff Accountants.
- Preparing financial statements and performing risk assessments.
- Follow-up, tracking, and resolution of open issues following fieldwork.
- Ensuring the engagement comes to timely completion.
- Assisting and preparing individual and corporate income tax returns.
- Relationship building with clients and community contacts in an effort to contribute to the overall marketing efforts of the firm.
- Training and mentoring Staff Accountants.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree, advanced degree or CPA a plus
- 3 to 5 years of public accounting experience
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in Microsoft Office products / applications
- Ability to travel locally with some overnight travel required
